Kevin Bacon stars in short film by 9-year-old director
You won't find Saving Angelo at your metroplex--yet--but this is a cool story that combines some of my favorite things: A heroic young boy, a dog rescue, selflessness, a humble Hollywood star, and an underdog.
At the center of the story is 9-year-old Dominic Scott Kay. He appeared in the Kevin Bacon film Loverboy and convinced Kevin to star in a short film about Dom's real-life experience saving an injured dog.
Saving Angelo is the heartwarming story of a boy who discovers an abandoned dog left for dead on the side of the road who he ultimately brings back to life. The boy's selfless acts continue as he secures a home for the dog in the local firehouse.
Says Kevin, "I feel like I've done so many things in my career... so it's a rare opportunity to be directed by a nine-year-old."
Dom hopes to expand the story into a feature-length film some day, and I certainly don't doubt this kid can make it happen.
