For Dick Van Patten, K-9 is Enough

Has it really been almost a quarter of a century since Eight is Enough was on TV?!? Ahem, I mean, it's not as if I'm old enough to remember or anything. Umm, I heard about the show from my parents. Yeah, my parents.

Anyway, Dick Van Patten is lending his name and likeness to a new dog food formula that claims to be indistinguishable from a home-cooked meal for humans. And Dick proved it by eating the "Irish Stew" flavor at a press conference. Yumm!

“Dick Van Patten’s Natural Balance Eatables for Dogs” also comes in such flavors as spaghetti and meatballs, hobo chili and Chinese takeout. (Is it politically correct to reference something as "hobo"?)

And yes, Eight is Enough ran from 1977 to 1981--24 years ago. (Or 168 years in dog years.)
