Fern, Templeton the rat, Golly the gander, and Elwyn the crow are doing press for the upcoming release of "Charlotte's Web." Those are the characters played by Dakota Fanning, Steve Buscemi, Cedric the Entertainer, & André Benjamin, and the actors are sharing their favorite pet stories.
E.B. White's "Charlotte Web" is one of the most beloved childrens books of all time. Opening on Friday, December 15, the big-screen version should be a treat for childrem (and pet lovers) of all ages!
Over on
Beliefnet, Dakota Fanning talks about her first pet, a horse. She also says that "Charlotte's Web" is "such an iconic story." Okay, what normal 12-year-old girl uses words like "iconic"?!? But, we suppose what normal 12-year-old girl stars in movies with Tom Cruise, Robert De Niro, Denzel Washington, Mike Myers, Patrick Dempsey, Sean Penn, and Kurt Russell?
Steve Buscemi also shares stories about his boyhood pet, a terrier named Murphy. And André Benjamin tells a heartbreaking story about how his little puppy died because he left some candy on a table and the puppy tried to eat it and died.
Luckily, most of the stars have happier tales to tell than André. You can read them on all on
