Matthew McConaughey's new dog has big paws to fill
Matthew McConaughey and his labrador/chow mix, Ms. Hud, were inseparable for 12 years. Together they toured the country as Matthew ascended to Hollywood leading man status, (a mantle he seems to bear with a great deal of discomfort.) But last year, Ms. Hud succumbed to cancer and Matthew lost his best friend.
The actor has a new best friend, and he introduced the world to his new pooch on the Oprah Winfrey show. Matthew is now the proud owner of a red healer named Foxy.
Matthew shared the story with Oprah of his last days with Ms. Hud. The dog had lost a front leg to cancer, and she then lost the use of her hind legs. "The doctor said, 'We've amputated hind legs before but that's with dogs who have two front legs.'" said Matthew. "I said, 'Ms. Hud, do you wanna be a one-legged dog?' and she looks up and she says, 'Let me move on, Pop,' so we let her move on."
We're glad Matthew has found companionship with his new dog, and we hope they enjoy many years of knocking around the world together!

I have just yesterday had to put my beloved "Doc" to rest succumbing to cancer which moved rapidly through his skull behind his ears and it wasn't until last week did a bump develop on his head. A week later I noticed the white part of his eye coming over his beautiful brown left eye and his nose began to bleed. It happened so fast with no chance of him surviving. So my husband and I made the hardest decision to lay him to rest yesterday. He was 9 1/2 years old. I did not know the pain of losing him would cause my heart to ache so badly. My life will not be the same without him. He was a legend and my best friend. He was wonderful to my three gorgeous boys. Never ever once growled at them for all the times they pulled on his tail or wanted to ride him like a bull. Im happy someone of such a high profile has showed such a love for his own dog so publicly. He gives me hope that there is people out there like us who feel for their beloved pets like we do and they are able to move on and love another pet again. I don't think I could put myself through this pain again but I certainly wouldn't have missed any moment or memory that I had with Doc (Doccy boy).
REST IN PEACE DOCCY BOY. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH. YOU WILL ALWAYS BE IN MY HEART.
