Carmen Electra's pet scorpion passes away

We tend to focus on cats and dogs on this blog because, well, most pets are cats and dogs. But some celebs prefer more unusual pets, and Carmen Electra is just such a celeb. She had a pet scorpion. (Nothing against scorpions, but we personally prefer our pets without exoskeletons.)

Unfortunately, Carmen is mourning the death of her pet scorpion. She found the not-so-cuddly pet just this past summer as it was crawling around her Hollywood home. (That's what we call a pest problem.) She decided to keep it, much to the dismay of her husband Dave Navarro (of Jane's Addiction, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and reality TV fame).

Carmen says, "I took very good care of my scorpion, because I felt bad (for him). I didn't want to kill him and I didn't want to just let him back out, so I fed him grasshoppers and I went to a pet store to find out what to do."
