Poodle saved from Hollywood Fire

Here's the story of a poodle who isn't famous, nor is he the companion of anyone famous, but he does live in Hollywood and it's a great story, so I thought I'd share it.

Eric Gonzalez, a heroic LAPD firefighter, was searching a North Hollywood home filled with smoke from a garage fire when he saw a dog that he thought had perished. Then Gonzalez heard small, faint breaths coming from the dog's mouth so he rushed the dog outside where firefighter Danny Wu gave him oxygen. The poodle was then rushed to the North Hollywood Animal Care Center for oxygen therapy.

Within days, the pooch was was walking around and breathing on his own.

"We named him Smokey, because that's what he smells like," said Maria Aleni Sunada, the veterinarian at the animal clinic. They hope to locate the owner and return the dog to his or her care.

Let's give a round of applause to Eric Gonzalez, Danny Wu, and the LAPD firefighters who went out of their way to save a dog's life!
