Who is the greatest dog in pop culture history?
Retrocrush.com asked their million visitors to vote on the top 100 greatest dogs in pop culture history. This exercise was in honor of the Chinese year of the dog, which has just begun.
So, who would you vote for? Would you believe that the top two spots when to cartoon pooches: Snoopy was the most popular, followed by Scooby Doo. (Obviously, those voting never saw the dreadful live-action Scooby Doo movies of a couple years back.)
The top live dog was--of course--Lassie, coming in at third place. The No. 4 spot bears the pawprints of Old Yeller, and I'm tearing up just thinking about that movie. And at number 5, Walt's cartoon dog, Goofy.
