Senator Kennedy's dog to author a book

What does Senator Kennedy's pooch think about global warming, the War in Iraq, and domestic spying? I doubt we'll ever know, but we will find out what it's like to be the dog of a famous senator when Ted Kennedy's new book is released in May.

The veteran Massachusetts senator, has agreed to create a children's book to give the nation's students a peek at life behind the scenes in Washington, D.C.

How much behind the scenes do you think the book will go? Accepting checks from lobbyists? Backroom deals for pork barrel spending? Now THAT would make an interesting book, but instead I'm sure it will show the dog making his way through the offices of selfless public servants toiling to keep the nation free--sort of like "West Wing" meets "Clifford the Big Red Dog."

Don't get me wrong--I'm not criticizing. If writing a book from a pet's point of view is good enough for Gloria Estefan and Shirley MacLaine, then Ted is certainly welcome to take his best shot. "Reading is a lifelong adventure," said Senator Kennedy. "I hope that this book will spark an interest in young people to learn more about their government and to explore the joy of books."
