Loyal dogs to meet Ellen DeGeneres
You may have heard or read the news story a couple weeks ago: An Indiana man named Bill Burns decided to take a walk. Burns suffers from diabetes and well into his walk, he collapsed in a cornfield. There, he probably would've died except for his two dogs, Dusty and Butch. Butch held a flashlight in his mouth, which attracted attention from a sheriff, and Dusty kept her master warm by laying on him.
Now, Burns and these amazing dogs are heading to Hollywood to be the guests of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Well, one of the dogs is going to California, anyway--Dusty is a bit old for the trip, so she'll be staying home; but Burns and Butch left this weekend to fly to LA. The show will be taped on Monday and should be broadcast on Tuesday, so watch your local listings.
Burns remembers little of the night he collapsed, but he definitely recalls coming home from the hospital. Butch was happy to see him and wagged his tail and barked when Burns arrived home; but Dusty had another reaction: she walked up to him, sat down, put her head in his lap, and cried.
