Will celebs aid in the restoration of Dover dog statues?
The town of Dover, NJ hope celebrities will help it raise the funds necessary to repair and restore two historic dog statues. The statues used to flank the entrance to town hall but were vandalized in December. The two dog statues were a gift from the mayor of Dover, England, in 1869 to George Richards, the first town mayor.
In need of $8,100, town residents have sent requests to 700 celebrities for autographs they can auction off. Here's hoping we can report in the future on a successful fundraiser and the return of Dover's famed dog statues!
