Jude Law and Sienna Miller come to aid of pound dogs

Porgy and Bess are described as "two scruffy mutts," but they're two scruffy mutts who live in the lap of luxury, now. The two dogs were saved from an Irish dog pound by Debbie Spear, who has been making regular trips to Ireland to save dogs ever since learning Irish authorities make no attempt to find unwanted dogs new homes and destroy dogs after just one week in the pound.

On-again, off-again, on-again celeb couple Jude Law and Sienna Miller adopted two of the dogs after seeking out a rescue group. "They wanted to give a home to rescue dogs, had gone round the internet looking at various charity websites and found us, which was very nice," said Sandy Mallinson of Surrey Animal Charity, the organization who funds Spear's trips.

"They did not go on about who they were or what they did - they were very sweet and ordinary and concerned and interested in what we were doing. It's clear they are both genuine animal lovers and it was a pleasure to home Porgy and Bess with them."
