Jake Gyllenhaal communes with animals while filming Brokeback Mountain

Have you seen Brokeback Mountain, yet? Well do it. Now! Don't do it because we told you--do it because just about every movie critic in America loves it.

Turns out Brokeback Mountain star Jake Gyllenhaal was communing with more than just Heath Ledger while on the set. He says one of the most rewarding things about making the movie was the chance "to get close to animals - horses and dogs and sheep."

The experience led him to adopt a German shepherd mix, which he has named Atticus. "My dog has changed my life," he says.
