Renee Zwllweger seeks to replace Kenny with dog

This hasn't exactly been Renee's year. She met, got engaged, got married, separated, and annulled from Kenny Chesney, all in the course of 2005. One can't blame her for seeking a little loyal companionship from man's best friend.

According to ContactMusic.com, Renee wants a puppy under her Christmas tree. She is planning a "simple family Christmas" at home in Texas and she's hoping for a new pet.

"What I'd really love is to have a dog - a tiny teacup, maybe a Yorkie."

Then again, she admits to being a bit of an absentee pet owner to her cat. "She's well cared for and loved, but the fact is I'm always gone."
