Oprah picks up own dog poop

Oprah always struck me as a pretty grounded woman--at least as grounded as anyone can be who is one of the most powerful women in Hollywood (and, arguably, the world), has a staff of 450, is seen daily around the globe, has a private jet, and owns a $70-million estate in Montecito, CA (not to mention two huge properties in Maui.)

The L.A. Times recently interviewed Oprah and the discussion briefly turned to her new dogs. It's good to see Oprah isn't above a little poop scooping!

Sophie and Solomon, her two spaniels, were recently joined by three new golden retriever puppies Oprah adopted. The new puppies, says the L.A. Times, "have been providing a definite balance to the general fabulousness of her life." (Which is just a fancy way to say that handling dog poop keeps us all a little more humble.)

According to Oprah, "If you knew how much dog [poop] I picked up last weekend, you would not believe it. But I will never ask another person to do it because I never want to hear someone say, 'And then she asked me to pick up her dog [poop].' "
